ORIHUELA COSTA BOWLED OVER
At 12 o clock on a nice sunny day 41 members and friends arrived at "Taste Buds" a new venue for the branch about 10km inland from San Javier, for a new experience of ten pin bowling, followed by lunch.
The Bowling Alley had a nice layout with 4 lanes so we then made up teams of 6 and proceeded to show our lack of skills, there were a few members that had played before and were able to give well needed instructions, which we all mastered after a fashion. Having said that we all had a great time with a fair bit of banter and laughter. Mind you we were a bit slow so we only had time for 1 game, as lunch would have ended up as Dinner, but I think a lot of us would go again.
The Results:
Ladies.............Anne Reid with a score of 95
Gentlemen.......Paul Storer with a score of 169
Booby prize....Mary Macdonald with a score of 12
After all this exercise we then went in to the Restaurant which was laid out to perfection with one long table for us all to enjoy a well-deserved 3 course meal with ali oly, with bread and salad as a starter.
The meal also included a glass of wine, and coffee to finish off a great day and at €12 a head including the bowling, it really was value for money.
