BUS SERVICE TUESDAY ORIHUELA COSTA TO THE CENTRE

Last year in October the Department of Transport started a pilot project to install a bus connection between Orihuela Costa and the Centre of Orihuela.

The first 3 months of this project have been very successful. Where initially only a small bus was planned, Costazul did carry out the weekly trip with a big bus which at times has been nearly full.

The success of the project has shown that there is a demand for this route and that residents and visitors of Orihuela Costa use the offer to reach the town centre for their visits, or the weekly market, make the necessary trips to the tax office or the social security without parking problems etc. Also the residents of Entre Naranjos are using the service frequently.

Due to this success the Department of Transport has decided that the service will carry on also in 2012 and it has been included in the budget for this year.

As the market has not been changed and still will take place on Tuesdays and in the same location in Orihuela, the bus stops also will be the same as before. Meanwhile the Department of Culture is elaborating the new list of visits; remember that at each visit there is the possibility to visit a different monument and/or museum or Orihuela.

Also a new leaflet will be printed in which some bars and restaurants of the centre will take part and have their publicity inserted.
