ACCUSED BRITS GRANTED BAIL

The men on holiday

Two British men who were remanded in jail in August for the attempted murder of two other men, after they were accused of beating up and stabbing the two victims in a violent brawl near Flanagans Irish bar in Cabo Roig, have been freed on bail my the Spanish courts.

Kyle Thain, aged 24, and James Harris, aged 29, were released from the Font Calent prison in Alicante after £8,000 for each of their bail was paid by their familes.

In an interview for a local, Southend newspaper, Kyle's brother Jay said, “This is the best I have felt in a long while. It''s amazing news.”

The men, along with a third friend who was already cleared of any involvement, had arrived on 1st July for a holiday, staying at an apartment owned by James's parents.

The detainees have protested their innocence all along, claiming that their arrest must be a clear case of mistaken identity. Further evidence was accepted by the appeal judge, which was a set of photographs, dated and timed, claiming to show the men in their apartment at the time of the incident.
