THE ROTARY CLUB OF MONTESINOS SUPPORTS AECC

Francisco Lidon hosted the event at Restaurant La Herradura in Los Montesinos.

Rotary International, the oldest humanitarian service in the world, arrives in Los Montesinos. The debut of the new club took place during a Breakfast Meeting held on Thursday 6th October at Restaurant La Herradura in Los Montesinos.

Francisco Lidon and Francisco Quesada, President and Secretary of the Rotary Club in Los Montesinos along with Luz Divino Vice-President were delighted to welcome VIP guests: AECC President Mari Carmen and Vice President Pedro and many members from the Rotary Clubs in the area.

The head of the Spanish Rotary in Spain along with at least ten presidents, Pepe Navarro from Giosepo the largest shoe manufacturer in Spain will all be honoured guests at the Gala Dinner on Saturday the 15th October.

This will be the very first fundraising event for The Rotary Club of Los Montesinos (en formacion) and will benefit AECC (Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer) the Gala Dinner will be at Restaurante La Herradura and will be a 6 course meal - there are just a few tickets left at €50. It is hoped that on this night the target of €2000 will be easily raised and with a high percentage of the ticket price being added to the total fundraising this looks very achievable.

One of the main aims of the evening is to encourage more people to become a member of AECC paying just €10 a year to the charity, Neil Reardon Director of The Leader Newspaper has been a huge contributor to this event and will be one of the first people to sign up on the night for the €10 a year subscription.

The Rotary Club of Los Montesinos (en formacion) is integrated into the global network of Rotary volunteers dedicated to improving their communities and promoting international goodwill through the club works, scholarship programs, cultural exchanges and humanitarian grants.
