THE COAST IS CLEAR FOR COMMUNICATION

A brand new face started work at the Orihuela Costa Town Hall this week, albeit a face that has helped many a resident and tourist settle into life in Spain, during her 8 years working for a legal firm on the Orihuela Costa.
Denise Wesserling has taken up the role of forging relationships between International residents and the (sometimes) bureaucratic nightmare that is officialdom.
Originally from Yorkshire, in the UK, Denise spent a lot of time working in Germany before moving to Spain, a history that has set her up to fulfil the role that is crucial in breaking down the barriers that are often perceived when residents have to ask for answers from their elected representatives at the town hall, or when they are seeking help.
With English as her first language, Denise is also fluent in Germany, and Spanish poses no problem at all, of course. Putting together her European and legal experience, along with her linguistic skills, means she is the ideal filter for information in a two way flow that will encompass things like cultural events, new transport facilities, municipal improvements and things like the free Spanish courses that the council are hoping to resurrect again soon.
Whether you are the member of an association, a business, the press, or, more importantly, an individual or resident of this fine part of Spain, then Denise is here to be your representative and your voice, as well as your guiding light.
Councillor for the coast, Bob Houliston, said “It takes time to set things up, as everybody knows, but now, with the appointment of Denise, our little team foe the Orihuela Costa is complete”. He continued, “With every new government there is always a time to adjust and catch up with the backlog of problems that we are left with, but Denise started on Monday, with a clean slate, ready to help the residents of the Orihuela Costa”.
Communication is key to ensuring that the residents know what´s happening around the area. Denise has already started to build a database of names and email addresses so she can keep everybody informed on a regular basis. There is even a plan in place that every new resident will automatically receive an appointment with her, so that Denise can introduce herself to them and proactively resolve any of the most typical problems before they occur.
From her office on the ground floor of the town hall, Denise is now ready and excited to be facing the challenges ahead with a “sympathetic ear”. The entire team at the town hall have been briefed on her role and they will be pointing people in the right direction. Denise herself wants to create a friendlier and welcoming face of the town hall, and there is no doubt that she will have achieved that from day one. You don´t need to make an appointment, you can just visit the town hall any time from 9 in the morning until 2 in the afternoon, although Denise herself will be staying on beyond that time, still helping you, even thought the town hall will be closed.
Whatever your question or whatever your problem, not forgetting whatever your suggestion might be, then Denise is there for you. She is ready to welcome you, so why not pop along and welcome here. Just say hello and get to know the new face of the Orihuela Costa.
