COURT INVESTIGATING POTENTIAL CRIME IN MARKET DEATHS
The court in Benidorm has asked the Confederación Hidrográfica del Júcar to investigate whether any criminal neglect can be charged in relation to the deaths of two British tourists who died when flood water gushed through a market in Finestrat, near Benidorm.
The official results of the preliminary autopsy reveal that Mary Hall, aged 70, died from multiple injuries as a result of multiple blows suffered when he fell down and the impacted on objects as the water dragged her along, her husband, 72 year old Kenneth Hall, drowned when he was caught under a car while trying to save his wife.
TORREVIEJA HISTORIC CONFERENCES
The Asociación Cultural Ars Creatio and the Municipal Institute of Culture, in collaboration with the Cultural Society of the Casino of Torrevieja, have announced the fourth edition of a series of free conferences "Torrevieja y el Mar" taking place on 28 and 29 October and November 5 at 8pm.
The conference will look at various aspects of the history of Torrevieja with specialists from various fields of expertise.
NEW BOOKS FOR ALMORADI
With an investment near to 8,000 euro, Almoradí town hall has bought 500 new books, 78 special materials such as DVDs and CDs, of which 267 are destined for the adult library and 233 go towards the children's.
Isabel Martinez, a councillor of Culture, said that the "new acquisitions has characterized the demand for library users, who are mostly students, and books were purchased on computing, philosophy, psychology, law, natural sciences, engineering, medicine, art, architecture, design, etc., regardless of the needs of literature, foreign language or geography and history. These books ask us to do their jobs or to further their studies. "
GREENS SUPPORTING EDUCATION
In a statement issued by the green party of Torrevieja, Los Verdes, regarding the policy of cuts facing the school community forced by the Consell del Gobierno Valenciano and the Torrevieja council, the Greens support the protection of public education, demanding that the move is paralyzed and that the council eliminate all measures that have led to such actions and cuts.

BENIDORM TOURIST PRICE HIKE
The cost of travelling by public transport from Benidorm bus station to the city is set to rocket in price by 5 times as a result of a new ordinance that prevents the current fleet of buses carrying passengers with luggage.
Passengers wishing to carry cases on board public transport need to be carried on vehicles that have been adapted to keep items secured whilst in transit in the interest of safety.
The matter is currently under discussion in a hope that a resolution my be found as a temporary solution to the problem.
