The political parties of Los Verdes (The Greens) and Izquierda Unida (United Left) have joined forces across the Valencia region to battle the general election in November as a combined party, the Izquierda Unida-Los Verdes.

By combining their campaigns, they each believe that they are now a force to be reckoned with in campaigning in one of the most anticipated elections of modern times.

TRAGIC CHILD CHOKED ON DOLL´S HEAD

The investigation into the death of a six year old boy, who died in an Orihuela supermarket on Friday, has concluded that his death was a tragic accident.

The boy is said to have choked on a doll´s head, which he had accidentally swallowed. Investigators also believe that the actions of the father in taking the child to the mother at Mercadona, despite living closer to the neighbourhood health centre, were simply because he “lost control” as the events unfolded and sought to seek the assistance of his wife.

There head was not present at the time of death, as the father had already removed it. The doll was presented to the judge as evidence. The case is now closed.

FOREST FIRE STRIKES

Fire fighters tackled a blaze on Tuesday between the roundabouts of Campico de Guardamar and Los Montesinos, which is thought to be the work of an arsonist who had been setting fires throughout the summer.

Billowing smoke could be seen for miles around as two planes and a helicopter assisted ground based fire fighters to control the potentially disastrous blaze.
