ALL MASKED UP FOR CHARITY

British Consul, Paul Rodwell and some of the masked guests.

The British Consul, Paul Rodwell, was guest of honour last week at the annual Costa Blanca Samaritans (CBS) Gala Dinner Dance.

The event, which was held at Crystals Restaurant in the La Fuente Commercial Centre in Orihuela Costa, was attended by more than 70 guests, all of whom adorned masks as a special ‘twist' to the event. Music and entertainment was supplied free of charge, by the amazing duo Ameritz, and Darren and Shirley Sheridan from Grange Asphalt Roofing in Leeds, kindly supplied the Cava for the Bucks Fizz Reception. The management and staff of Crystals really gave all the guests a night to remember and the food was absolutely delicious.

CONFIDENTIAL

Denise Brown, from CBS, who was the mastermind behind the dinner dance, organised everything right to the last detail and was delighted with the feedback that she received afterwards. She was also very pleased to announce that 860€ was raised as a result of the event, both from ticket sales and from the night's raffle, prizes of which were supplied by Paul and Kath Brown. The Costa Blanca Samaritans have two call centres, which are open seven nights a week from 8pm until Midnight and they provide emotional support to anyone who needs to talk to someone, especially if they are feeling low, depressed or in need of support. They have 50 volunteers manning the phones as well as one drop-in centre, which is based in Calpe, in the north of the region. It is funded completely by donations and they also offer a confidential e-mail support service. You talk, they listen. If you need to talk to someone in confidence, please call 902 88 35 35 or visit their website at www.costablancasamaritans.com.
