PROPERTY SALES ON THE UP

Spanish Property Sales

Latest figures released by the Spanish Government indicate that the sale of property in Spain is well and truly starting to increase once again.

Between April and June of 2011, there were 90,746 property sales in Spain, which represents a 22% increase on the first quarter of the year.

The figure is a jump of almost a quarter increase in sales from the first period of the year to the second, the largest client group still being from outside Spain.

Alicante had the biggest number of sales to foreign investors, followed by Málaga. Shrewd buyers are clearly taking advantage of property prices that are up to half the price they were just a few years ago, buying now as the trends start to turn and the inevitable increase on property prices that looms, once the market picks up.

The huge reduction in property tax, combined with a more stable strategy in Spain, including the first increase in employment for some time, are all helping to reignite confidence in buyers of Spanish property.
