N332 OFFICIALLY OPENS
After company troubles, financial difficulties, cessation of works and delays, the N332 main coastal road officially as a two lane dual carriageway, between Guardamar and Torrevieja, on Monday 26 September.
The only exception is the bottle neck of the north and south ends of Torrevieja, the main road is now double the size that it was from La Torre in the south, to Guardamar in the north, which should ease a lot of the historic congestion along this popular route.
Pedestrian foot bridges provide safer routes for walking and roundabouts provide easier access to both the coastal and inland routes, often blocked with traffic and frequently the site of collisions.
One of the biggest parts of the project was at Moncayo, which has now had an underpass created for through traffic and a higher level roundabout where the access to the infamous “lemon tree” road was often the scene of frustration for motorists trying to join the main road.
