SAN BARTOLOMÉ FIESTA
The second deputy mayor of Orihuela, Pedro Mancebo, inaugurated the celebrations of the parish of San Bartolomé in Orihuela on Friday, marking the launch of the celebrations that will continue until the 24th of August.
Part of the ceremony included the crowning of the Fiesta Queens, and the standard-bearers of the Moors and Christians groups.
Eva Ortiz, an official daughter of this parish, spoke of her personal experiences, and the plan and policies of the fiesta, before inviting everybody around the municipality to join in and be part of this wonderful event. Pedro Mancebo, on behalf of the Orihuela council, also promised to work closely with all institutions to support this event.
Council officials, the Fiesta Queens, young and old alike, all came together to celebrate, mixing and mingling to mark the official launch of this annual fiesta.
