ILLEGALLY PARKED VEHICLES TO BE TOWED
The Orihuela City Council have announced that they will launch a municipal towing service on the Orihuela Costa, in an attempt to actively clamps down on illegally parked vehicles, that are both a menace and potential danger to other road users.
Shortly after the summer season finishes, the town council will seek to find land that can be used as a municipal vehicle pound, where vehicles can be removed to, and subsequently collected by those who park illegally.
Up until now, a towing service has not been financially viable, as vehicles would have to be removed from the coast to the current municipal pound in Orihuela city.
In addition to this new service, the town council will also seek to remove the hundred or so vehicles that are considered abandoned on the Orihuela Costa, thus cleaning the streets of these ugly wrecks, and providing more parking spaces for residents and visitors alike.
