Students from San Javier's official language school have just got back from a trip to Helsinki, Finland where they took part in the Grundtvig project on the subject of "Intercultural Dialogue to Develop a European Identity Among Member Status." The college has been involved in the project since 2008 alongside students from Ireland, France, Finland, Poland and Czech Republic.
The Learning Partnership, a European exchange project, has resulted in the creation of a website that provides access to a Moodle platform, an e learning software programme, currently with over 37 million users, containing access to a bank of resources consisting of various classroom activities that aim to promote intercultural dialogue amongst European countries.
Among many other planned activities, the participants had the opportunity to eat Finnish food, as well as that from other participating countries. The delegation took the opportunity to showpiece Spanish cucumbers, preparing a salad with cucumbers grown locally in Murcia. The dish, we are assured, was enjoyed by all the other participants.
