LIONS FOR LORCA APPEAL CONTINUES TO GROW

Many weeks have passed since the earthquake hit Lorca but the Lions for Lorca Appeal continues to grow with the continuing support of the local public.

Last week the retiring Lions District Governor for District 116a, Esperanza Pelegrin Feliu, was able to present the Mayor of Lorca with a cheque for 7,100.00 euros from Lions Clubs International. Locally the Torrevieja Costa Lions Club have now raised over 3,500.00 euros and support is still strong.

The most recent donation was handed to Lion President Iain Bennett by the popular local entertainer Cathy Carson at her regular Friday night spot in Manolos Restaurant in Dona Pepa.

The donation of 282.00 euros had very kindly been donated by Ann Fahey from Los Montesinos following the retiring collection at the funeral of her husband David who sadly died recently. On behalf of the Torrevieja Club Iain thanks Ann most sincerely and sends condolencies from all the Club members to Ann.
