BENEFIT SHOW RAISES 750 EURO FOR LORCA

The free benefit show organized by local entertainer Pete Hull held at The Quesada Country Club on the 30th June raised 750 Euros on the day for the Lorca Earthquake Appeal Fund; the event was very popular and well attended right from the start at 2.00pm and throughout the day until it finished at 11.30 in the evening.

A raffle was held during the show with prizes donated by a large number of local businesses and we had a guess the weight of Poo Bear competition both of which were generously supported by all the people who attended, the raffle was draw just after 7.00pm and a few prizes were unclaimed so a list has been placed in the bar at the Quesada Country club so that anyone can check to see if they won a prize and claim it from the bar staff. The winner of Poo Bear was Chris Wopling and she generously said she would raffle him off in her bar (Championes) and donate the proceeds to the Lorca Appeal fund which will add to the total raised..

The organizer Pete Hull said “I was very pleased with the way the show went everything remained on schedule, all the artists were extremely professional and all arrived in plenty of time before their slots to ensure that they were ready to go on stage at the appropriate time and they all gave superb performances to entertain the very appreciative audience. If any bars are looking for entertainers I would suggest that they could not do better than to book any of the artists who performed at the show and I would like to personally thank them all for giving their time to help raise this money. I would also like to thank all the people who attended the show and who brought raffle tickets and gave money to the appeal fund and all the local businesses who donated prizes, I intend to make sure that all the money raised goes directly to help the people of Lorca to recover from the disaster. I had a number of people tell me that they had enjoyed the show and I sincerely hope that everyone who attended, audience and performers enjoyed the day and finally I would like to say once again thank you to all of you for your support.”
