Torrevieja's budding Picasso's Miro's and Dali's are displaying their works in the Virgen del Carmen Cultural Centre until the end of the week.

On display are 86 original works of art from students of the Municipal School of Art, who under guidance of Professor Maria Garcia-Rubio, Manuel Balaguer and Mar García study outside their school hours to add yet another talent to their repertoire.

The event was attended by the Mayor in waiting and the present Councillor for Culture and Events Eduardo Dolon, the director of municipal museums María Dolores Sánchez Roca, and Corte Salinera, who along with Maria Garcia delivered the commemorative diplomas to all of the children attending who have their works on show. The exhibition will remain open to the public until Saturday 4 June.

All age groups participated in the exhibition, which covers sculpture and painting with different media and mixed media, adding variety to the show. New classes are planned for the start of the school year in September or October 2011, so talented youngsters will have another opportunity to enrol after their summer holidays.
