WE’RE GOOD AT GIVING
The Company Women organisation has proved it again; if there's one thing the British are good at it's giving. At the latest Company Women lunch on Thursday 7th April at Bar Catorce in Benijofar, this fact was celebrated in style with monetary donations given to Montse, the Director of Emaus children's homes and Sue from the Easy Horse Care Rescue Centre in Rojales.
“We have a lot of support and donations from the British and we need it,” explained Montse, as she described the stories of hardship, poverty and challenging family circumstances that bring children to Emaus. Due to the current economic climate, money is no longer coming from the Valencian government just at the time when more families find themselves in desperate situations. Hopefully, the donations will help a little.
This was the first Company Women lunch for the new President, SOL Productions´Gina Marks and as an inaugural event it certainly hit the spot. With 43 women networking, there was plenty of opportunity to make new business contacts as well as new friends.
There are big plans too. At the next lunch in May, Company Women will welcome a very successful woman in her own right, Monica Lorente. Holding down the job as Mayor of Orihuela can't be the easiest of tasks and women such as Monica exhibit a level of determination that women need in both politics and business.
Company Women is growing and improving and wants to reflect the voice of its community. You don't have to be a member to come along or be British. If you are a woman, are in business and would like to make contacts with like-minded women on the Costa Blanca why not come to the next lunch and have chance to meet Monica too.
