A VILLAGE FETE COMES TO LOS ALC�ZARES

In its second year, the Legs & Co Village Fete brought an eclectic mix of old England and España to the Rio Nalón with Morris Dancers, Flamenco for All, and The Crazy Ladies tap dancing troupe, providing some great entertainment.

Kathy and Ron provided music throughout the day. C&M Entertainment set up their bouncy castle, free of charge, and donated their takings towards the day's fundraising for MABS, while Susie Long helped to entertain the children with some bright and creative face-painting.

There was a colouring competition, with three winners: the Under 5 years category was won by Mia, 6-9 years by Miguel, 10-12 years by Charlie, and the over 12 category was won by Shannon. AngloINFO provided a car filled with balloons for people to guess the total number – this was won by Linda Pirah who was presented with a voucher for a Meal for Two at the Novo Carthago restaurant in Los Urrutias.

This was truly a team effort, with local businesses joining in the cheerful spirit of the day. Raffle prizes were donated by Something Special, Becky's Tea Room, SOS Boutique, Legs & Co., Hombre, D&G Leisure, Big Ben's restaurant and Infinity Hair Salon (who also kindly provided the electricity). The Sand bar lent tables and donated 40 Euros from their day's profit.

Zigi and her ladies gave a lively and entertaining Fashion Show to the crowds out enjoying the sunshine. As always with Zigi's great organisation and the help of the ladies from her Dancersize Class, they put on a fabulous display of Legs & Co ladies' wear. The total raised for MABS Murcia/Mar Menor was 469 Euros and MABS is extremely grateful to Peter and Donna Clarke for their continuing support of the charity and for providing a great community atmosphere at this annual event.
