PARTIDO POPULAR PRESENT THEIR 61 MAYORAL CANDIDATES

The Palau Arts Reina Sofia of Valencia was packed with supports and representatives of the Partido Popular on Tuesday March 1st. The occasion was to celebrate the act of proclamation of the 61 candidates of the municipalities that make up the Valencian Community, accounting for more than 20.000 members of the People's party.
Presided over by the President of the Autonomous Government of Valencia and of the PPCV, Francisco Camps, this event marked the start of the electoral campaign proper, leading up to the elections on May 22, 2011.
During the evening it was announced that Torrevieja's candidate for Mayor will be Eduardo Dolón, who came accompanied by numerous members and supporters of the local PP, who shared the stage together with the rest of candidates including Monica Lorente, the Candiate for the post of Mayor in Orihuela.
During the assembly, President Camps assured those present that the PP is in a strong position to practically gain total control of all municipalities of the Comunitat because it is the party of the people. He emphasized that employment is the PP's priority and that it there is going to be a continued effort to push for the financing of improvements and upgrades for infrastructure, the AVE and the water that the Comunitat deserves.
Torrevieja's Mayor, Pedro Hernandez Mateo also met with Francisco Camps to discus the future of the retiring mayor. The president of the PPCV invited him to continue taking an active role in the political arena of Valencian life.
Eduardo Dolón thanked everyone who travelled to Valencia for their backing and support, emphasizing that every day he is more driven with vision and focus and that he will use more force if it is necessary, to lead the ambitious future projects that the city of Torrevieja requires for prosperity, growth and to become a major focal point in the Valencian Community.
