FROM ALASKA TO ARGENTINA BY BIKE

Last week Simon Perry finished his bike ride from Alaska to Argentina! Readers might remember that we wrote about his planned exploits just before he set off in June last year.

As you can imagine het tells us he is absolutely delighted to have completed the venture but he is very tired. Simon is now concentrating on trying to rake in donations for the British charity Help 4 Heroes. He is aiming at €3000 and is currently about halfway there.

Simon Perry lives in Madrid. He told the Leader how Help 4 Heroes had made a deep impression on me since its inception. “I greatly admire their work and it's an honour for me to be able to contribute to such a noble cause. Their hard work will inspire me throughout my trip as will thoughts of those for whom the charity was created”.

What's more I am from a services family. My father served for 40 years with the Army and my mother was also a member of the RAF. My brother is currently serving with the Army and is a direct link to the reality of what this charity is about”.

Having finished the trip Simon is still seeking sponsorship and if anyone on the Costa Blanca or Almeria would like to donate you can do so by visiting the link at www.justgiving.com/simonintheamericas
