SOCIAL SECURITY OFFICE OPENS WITH EIGHT STAFF

The new Social Security Office opened in Torrevieja last week with just eight staff. When fully manned the office will serve a daily average of 600 people.

Currently only the tax office is open which will deal with approximately 60 enquiries per day. When the centre is fully operating it will house the General Treasury of the Social Security, the offices of the Center for Service and Information (CAISS), the National Institute of Social Security, the Executive Collection Unit (ERU) and the Institute Social de la Marina. The building was erected at a cost of 9 million euros and was completed approximately two years ago

The new office will deal with enquiries from personnel in Torrevieja, Guardamar del Segura, Orihuela Costa, Los Montesinos, San Miguel de Salinas and Pilar de la Horadada. It will cater for a total of 60,000 users.

Offices in Elche will continue to serve the people living in the area Almoradi to Benijófar and to the north.
