The Alicante man who has been on a hospital waiting list for the past year, waiting for surgery to remove a 30 kilo tumour from his testicles, has been told he will finally get his operation.
Daniel Morales from Pla had been told that he had to reduce his weight from 200 kilos to 80 kilos before being eligible for the surgery, but Diario Información reports that he has been called to the hospital in recent weeks and has been seen by six specialists before now being told that he will see the anaesthetist on March 11 before the operation which is scheduled to place later that month.
Reconstruction of the area affected will be carried out during the same operation, once the tumour has been removed. Daniel has been told that it is a complex and risky operation, but he says the situation which he's living now is much more serious for his health. It's understood that he is in constant pain and has to spend up to 20 hours a day lying down.
It is not the first surgery he has received, in 2009 a 50kilo tumour was removed from his abdomen and, after this latest operation he will require surgery for a stomach reduction to remove excess skin once he has lost weight.
