ALICANTE’S PARTIDO POPULAR POLITICAL PARTY LAUNCH THEIR WEB SITE IN ENGLISH AND GERMAN.
Ortiz and Prieto present Alicante's PP website in different languages addressed to European Residents.
24% of the population registered in the province of Alicante are non Spanish residents
The vice secretary of the organisation of the PP in Alicante, Miguel Ortiz and the person responsible for European Residents, Mª Asunción Prieto have presented this morning a new English and German version of Alicante PP's website. According to Ortiz, “there is a large number of European Residents in the Province and it is essential that they have all the information and that we can share with them our ideas and proposals”.
Prieto has underlined “the huge importance of this group of residents, since they have decided that Alicante becomes their new home and therefore the PP works in order to make Alicante an example of a multicultural and integrated society”.
The Province of Alicante has some particularities regarding population. Out of the 1.926.285 people registered in the province, 15% (290.662) are European Residents, out of which 45% (130.302) are British and 13% (36.543) are German. If we add the Non European Residents to this data, we can see that 24% of the population in the province of Alicante are non Spanish residents.
According to Prieto, the PP Political Party in Alicante is working since long ago with a policy of integration in order to attain the needs of those residents. The PP considers all residents, regardless of their nationality, as “alicantinos”.
With this objective in mind, the Partido Popular of Alicante makes one step further in order to get closer to the EU citizens, share with them their political program as well as their ideas and proposals. Aware that language could sometimes be a barrier, the PP of Alicante has translated their website: www.alicantepp.es into English and German. This information is to be found at the link “Residentes Europeos”.
The Partido Popular of Alicante has also provided to all European citizens an email address in which they can make questions and inquire in English and German. Those questions will be responded in the same language with the aim of improving communication with all citizens.
