REGIONAL COUNCILLOR FOR TOURISM PRAISES TORREVIEJA

During her visit, Juste highlighted the ‘attractions’ of Torrevieja

The future site of Torrevieja's May Fair is, in the view of the Regional Councillor for Tourism, Belén Juste, "the perfect complement to the tourist attraction” adding that the city is as much about sports tourism, the culture and social aspects as it is about being a sunny holiday destination.

Belén Juste made these statements on Tuesday in Torrevieja, which has seen the start of the works on the new site by the fairgrounds, accompanied by Mayor, Pedro Hernandez Mateo. She said the future site represents the interest of the Consell and the city of Torrevieja by tourism, but also by culture and music.

The May Fair is one of the nine actions the Council are developing in Torrevieja including the Semana Santa Museum, creating an enclosure for markets, asphalting and redevelopment of various areas of the municipality and the opening of road Mazon Rosa Valero, representing an investment of 20-million-euros.

During her visit, Juste highlighted the ‘attractions' of Torrevieja as its 14 miles of coastline with secluded coves and beaches where they fly the ‘Qualitur' flag; the 3,700 acres of nature with the Natural Park of La Mata and Torrevieja; the multitude of promenades; museums like the Museum of Sea and Salt, as well as its delicious food and superb cultural offerings.

“In addition, Torrevieja has a large variety of festivals, among which the International Habaneras and Polyphony festival declared of International Tourist Interest and of course, the May Fair, which in the near future be held in this new area.”
