ANTI SMOKING LEGISLATION RUNS INTO TROUBLE
Causing rather more irritation than was at fist envisaged it now appears that the anti-smoking ban on bars and restaurants also extends to cultural activities as well, meaning that when the various lodges are opened up for the chapters of the Fallas or the Moors and Christians celebrations, smoking will be banned in those gatherings as well.
However, Health Conseller Manual Cervera said on Thursday that the Government still has to outline what is considered a public space and what is not, since access to these lodge or chapter celebrations is by invitation only. Could this now mean that all private gatherings, local clubs and societies, will in future be excluded from the new law?
