WRINKLED AND SUN BURNT

If you´re family said that you look like a chain smoking, wrinkly old woman, you might take offence, but local reader Rita Senior didn´t when her daughter and son in law made such a comparison.

Why? Because Rita was actually being told that she looked just like Madge Delila Baron, otherwise known simply as Madge, in ITV´s hit comedy Benidorm, played by the amazing Sheila Reid.

Luckily, Rita saw the funny side and decided to exploit her new found fame, by contacting a local hire shop to ask if she could have a photograph taken on one of their mobility scooters. Quickly jumping on board, the hire shop owner decided that they could go one better than that, and with little delay, the scene was set around a pool at Via Park, with Rita on the scooter, fag in hand, being photographed whilst being the doppelganger to Madge.

Rita says “People kept sticking their heads out of their apartments”, presumably thinking that the entire cast and crew had descended on the pool to film a scene for the next series.

Rita popped into our offices this week to show us the pictures, so we thought you might like to see them too.

Benidorm will be back on your screens at Christmas, and the DVD can already be pre-ordered on the internet. Rita is looking forward to it, as are we of course.
