The Spanish Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) in Badghis province has handed over a school built in the town of Tajek (close to Muqur) to the district leader of Muqur that will benefit 200 boys and girls from the town and surrounding area.
The opening ceremony was attended by local authorities, dignitaries from the region and representatives from the Spanish military contingent.
The school has four fully-furnished classrooms and a teachers' common room, toilets, a perimeter wall and, outside, a gabion to protect it from flooding in the rainy season.
The Civilian-Military Cooperation Team, responsible for leading the reconstruction process in this region, supervised the building of the school that, together with the Qala-i-Naw nursery, have been the most important projects to be opened in the last four months in the area under Spanish responsibility.
