NOISE COMPLAINTS AT VIA PARK III

Residents of Via Park III complain that they cannot sleep at night because of noise coming from the bars in the area. They say that many of the establishments play music until the early hours of the morning, even leaving open their doors open until closing.

A spokesman said that they have now submitted over 500 complaints in the council without having received any response whatsoever from the municipal authorities.

They say that they have called the local police, who have visited the centre but have not taken any action against the bars.

According to the Centro Liberal Renovador spokesman, Pedro Mancebo, residents have tried to meet with Orihuela Costa councillor José Antonio Aniorte Orihuela Costa. The request was made through the foreigners office although, as yet there has been no meeting yet. Mancebo said that "the lack of arbitration in reconciling the interests of the residents and businesses must be addressed."
