CAMPS SUSPENDS SEX EDUCATION IN SCHOOLS

Following a statement by the Archbishop of Valencia in which he expressed his discomfort with sexuality classes offered by the Generalitat in high schools Francisco Camps has ordered the temporary suspension of sex education in schools.

A Health and Education spokesman denied the permanent withdrawal of courses, but admitted they are "redesigning the content while a teacher we spoke to suggested that the PP wants to replace the current course content with that "born directly from within the Catholic Church hierarchy.”

It is not known how the order will the affect many health centres where sex education is taught such as those in Alicante, Castellon, Torrent and Gandia.
