‘AUTUMN SERENADE’ AT LA ZENIA CHURCH

With the addition of the church cross last Monday the new Catholic Church is now beginning to take shape

"In Harmony" is just over a year old and is based in Punta Prima where it rehearses each Monday evening. It exists primarily to sing music from the liturgical and secular song repertoires - to be performed in the many beautiful churches and cathedrals on the Costa.

It aims to achieve the highest possible standard of performance from its members, whose numbers are limited to a maximum of thirty. "In Harmony" sings solely for charity, and is pleased to be able to perform this evening on behalf of La Zenia church to contribute towards the building of the new ecumenical church in the area.

Nigel Hopkins is a professional singer, conductor and vocal tutor who moved to Spain from the UK a little over a year ago. In addition to "In Harmony" he also formed a sixty strong choir, "Melody Makers International". These perform the popular and musical show repertoires, and have already established a regular audience of over 600 for each concert in Orihuela Costa.

The concert, entitled ‘Autumn Serenade' will take place in the La Zenia church on Sunday 17 October at 8pm. Tickets are just 10 euro and include a post concert buffet supper. They are available either at the church or through Maggie Bray on 966 73 0158
