COSTA BLANCA HOTELS FIND NO CAUSE FOR COMPLAINT
The month of August has been a good one for Costa Blanca Hoteliers.
With an average 84.5% occupancy, they are not complaining. This is just 0.2% lower than last year, despite all the negative predictions before the summer began.
Surprisingly, 84.3% of all visitors to hotels on the Costa Blanca were Spanish. The foreigners were mainly from the UK, Germany, France, and Italy.
Calpe was the town with the highest occupancy, with 93.6% of their hotel beds full. Altea came a close second, with 90% occupancy and Finestrat came third, with 88.9%.
The forecast for the first fortnight of September is for 61.1% occupancy.
Benidorm could boast 89.8% occupancy, 6% higher than last year. Here Brits remained loyal, making up 46.7% of all visitors, and Spanish visitors made up 37.4%.
Campsites reported 75.6% occupancy, 4% lower than last year, with visitors coming from the UK (48.8%), Spain (35.9%), Holland (3.5%), Belgium (1.6%) and France (5.3%).
