GOVERNMENT PROJECTS PUT ON HOLD
The Infrastructure Ministry has now issued the details of the projects in the Valencian Community that will not advance this year, next year or even the year after due to the financial crisis. Amongst the projects that have been put on hold in the High Speed Train link to Castellon; the future High Speed Rail station in Valencia; the modernisation of the Valencian suburban train service and sixteen others across the Valencian Autonomy.
Other items include the adding of at least one lane each way on the Valencia bypass, which by province are: the bypass road between Benicassim and Oropesa del Mar in Castellon; the new link between Vinaros and Morella; the widening of the link between Sagunto and Nules.
In Valencia the widening of the Carcaixent/Valencia road, improving the N-220 near Manises; a third lane on the road between Buñol and Chiva, and several improvements on the N-330.
In Alicante, biting the dust for at least three years will be the bypass of the N-332 between Santa Pola and El Altet; the Altea/Alfas del Pi bypass; the third lane in the A-7 between Crevillente and Murcia Province and the renewal and bypass of the N-332 from Mascarat to Gata de Gorgos, meaning that for the next three years at least the main road will continue to pass through Altea, Benissa and Gata de Gorgos.
It is believed that all these projects will be re-examined by the Ministry in 2013
